Family Involvement in Our Program

Family Involvement

Boise Girls Academy is a program for the whole family. Parent participation in scheduled Parent Weekends and support for the mentoring aspects of the program strongly determine the student’s success. Parents are welcome to email and/or call us and will receive regular progress reports. Keeping families informed and involved in the process is of the utmost priority.

Students are able to to write and receive mail from parents immediately. After four weeks students are able to communicate with a larger selection of people with whom parents give authorization. This correspondence list will comprise of immediate family members (grandparents, parents, siblings). During this crucial time in your daughter’s life, we ask that you contact her often through letters and/or cards. Thoughtful responses and non-judgmental feedback can be achieved through the careful choice of your words.

Phone calls are allowed and encouraged, after a four week break at the beginning. Phone calls are every week to parents are 15 minutes in duration. This calls are scheduled in advance by staff. Since much can be learned in regard to a resident’s progress by their interactions with parents on the phone, these phone calls are monitored and evaluated by staff.

Visits are allowed during our Parent Weekends, every other month (Friday evening until Saturday evening).
